I have been helping the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Waukegan Citizen's Advisory Group to monitor the state endangered Common Terns (Sterna hirundo) that are nesting on Waukegan Beach. This is one of the colony of terns flying over its territory in the sand dunes.
